Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) general secretary Praveen Togadia has said that the proposed Communal Violence Bill was targeted at Hindus going by its provisions which violated the basic tenets of jurisprudence.
The legislation cast responsibility on the defence to show that it was innocent. In most cases, the Hindus were in this categor, Mr. Togadia said at a press conference here on Friday.
He demanded the resignation of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar, accusing him of failure to uphold a State legislation banning cow slaughter. An estimated 30,000 cows were slaughtered in the State on Bakrid. This did not happen anywhere in the country.
